On 24 December, 2019, Sose Women’s Issues NGO facilitated the project “Reproductive Health and Sex Education.” Organized with the sponsorship of the US Embassy in RA, a concluding review was held at the Yeghevnut Hotel in Goris.
Headmasters of several schools, together with teachers, psychologists, parents, students, educational trainers of the project, and a leading health expert took part in the summit meeting.
To open the gathering, Liana Sahakyan, President of Sose Women’s Issues NGO, welcomed participants and introduced the aim of the project. She briefly addressed both obstacles and successes during the organizational process of the training courses. Within the framework of the project, thirty-five city and rural schools of the Syunik region were visited to conduct informative training-courses for more than 3,500 pupils in grades 8-12th. Our trainers then presented the detailed process of the course, followed by a screening of and discussion about the short-length film produced by Sose Women’s Issues NGO.
Teachers of Biology and Physical Education shared their ideas about the project, as well as their experience in how they teach the topic in their classes. Psychologists, parents, and students voiced the importance of the theme.
The leading educational expert presented her professional analysis emphasizing the value and necessity of our health education project. At the end of the meeting, Shiraz Grigoryan, Headmaster of Shinuhayr Secondary School delivered high praise of appreciation for the effective organization of the training courses, and thanked the staff of Sose Women’s Issues NGO for the productive coordination with the participating schools.
